Hey everyone, I'm new here so hello! :-)
There was a little one minute blurb about Fantasia on Access Hollywood a couple of days ago. It was on the set of her photoshoot for her CD. She looked amazing and they reported that the album was set to drop this fall. Also, they interviewed Fantasia about wanting to meet her idol Aretha Franklin and how she didn't want to dress too sexy with "everything hanging out."

Signs honor 'Idol' winner

Notices will go up at selected entrances to city
Signs around the city soon will alert visitors that High Point is the hometown of "American Idol 3" winner Fantasia Barrino.
Mayor Becky Smothers said she approached the City Council about erecting signs because she knew that citizens wanted to brag about their most famous resident.
"I think all of High Point is proud of her talent and the acclaim that it has focused on High Point," Smothers said. The signs are "a matter of appreciation and pride."

The exact locations are not yet finalized, but Smothers said the signs will be erected along the city's primary entrances, which will likely include Business Loop Interstate 85, N. Main Street, Kivett Drive, Centennial Street, College Drive and Eastchester Drive. The department of transportation will choose the specific sites to ensure the signs do not obstruct necessary road visibility.
Smothers said the signs will be erected as soon as possible, which may be as early as next week, to ensure they will be in place when Barrino returns home. A date has not yet been set for Barrino's homecoming.
Chris Nelson, the supervisor of the city's signs department, said that he and his team designed the signs. The signs measure 4 feet in width and 3 feet in length. They feature blue font reading "High Point Home of 2004 American Idol Fantasia Barrino" against the backdrop of an American flag.
By public vote, Barrino beat Georgian Diana DeGarmo to win the title of American Idol last month. She will release "I Believe" as her first single on Tuesday.
